This banjo I purchased from Janet Davis Music in Feb. of 09, right after they stopped banjo production.
I received it from Janet Davis, and put it in climate controlled storage. I inspect and use a gibson light wax on it occasionally, but other then that, it has never been played. Of course the warantee from Gibson has long expired, but I don't think you'll find a brand new Checkerboard anywhere else on the planet. I was leaving this banjo to my daughter, but she would prefer to have the $.
