For sale is my handmade Beansprout 5-string, made in the USA with all domestic woods and hardware. An open back banjo has great tone and easy playability. Cherry is a great banjo wood. It’s loud but not too bright, has a sweet voice to the high end and a little growl on the bottom end. It is readily available, easy to work and darkens over time to a rich glow. In this case it is paired with some Texas Ebony from another retired banjo builder, including some nice sap wood pieces for contrast. Non steel strings, hawktail tailpiece, wire armrest, goat skin head, and headstock inspired by an 1880’s Hawaiian Rajao make this one unique.
This is a great instrument in mint condition that I hate to part with but I've found it difficult to maintain focus on banjo alongside ukulele and guitar and have switched primarily to playing clawhammer on my tenor uke. Aaron Keim's banjos and ukes are top quality and I'll likely purchase a banjolele from him in the future to fill this niche.
The hard case and strap are included. Will be packed with care and shipped UPS.
