Up for sale is a 2011 Huber VRB-75 with mahogany neck and Truetone HR-30 ring/engineered rim. In very good condition with a strong round dry tone, good note separation and awesomely solid low end. Standard Keith tuners w/ amber buttons.
The antiqued metalwork is in excellent condition — I suspect it could be polished to perfection if desired. Frets have plenty of life left with just a bit of wear in the first position… Action has room for adjustment in either direction, but it’s a very easy-playing banjo as it stands and doesn’t bottom out anywhere.
Has some chips in the lacquer coat on the neck and resonator, and a bit of finish checking (on the reso). The flaws on the neck are relatively minor and don’t appear to have made it past the clear coat, but head’s up if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing. I would consider myself pretty sensitive to depressions/nicks in the neck, but am totally fine with this one.
This is the first and only Huber I’ve owned, recently purchased here on the hangout.. It’s a wonderful banjo but shortly after purchasing I had an opportunity to pickup another vintage five string I’ve been trying to poach for some time, and so… the circle of banjo life continues, and this one needs to find a new home!
Includes a hard shell case in good condition. $100 flat fee covers fully insured ground shipping within the continental US. Will pack with care and ship promptly. Returns accepted within two days of receipt at the buyer’s expense.
Drop me a line if you have any questions whatsoever. Just swapped out the bridge with one I’m liking a bit better, here’s a new clip:
