It's been a while since my shop burned down a few years back. Due to that fact this gourd banjo was largely produced with vintage hand tools minus the work of a hand drill to pilot the tuner holes before the use of the peg reamer and to pilot some screw holes here and there. Otherwise everything was sawed by hind, scraped, filed or sanded. My past builds have been guitars so this was my first banjo which I am offering up here. The action is light, intonation is decent, it has good tone, okay volume, and is easy to play. The neck is comfortable, as you can guess most of the time was spent shaping the neck which is a two piece neck with failing scoop and dowel all fixed-made of hard flamed maple. Brazilian rosewood nut. Maple tail piece from same maple as the neck. Bridge is Very old cedar from a dresser made in 1882. Ebony violin pegs. Scale is right around 27". Tuned to standard banjo tuning. Selling to buy more supplies to build a Boucher minstrel banjo. Will provide shipping quote if you are interested. Your chance @ Fischer #1.
