FON 8351-5. This 1926 Gibson Banjo started its life as a GB-2 with its original diamond flange. These are super rare banjos, and great candidates for conversion banjos for 5 string players. The banjo is currently converted with a neck made from an unknown neck maker and features Keith D-tuners and a clamshell tailpiece. The metal parts most likely have been replated Gold. Notice the tiny repaired split in the heel of the neck of this neck which appears to be structurally sound and solid. Keep this banjo as is - or change parts on it to modify and make your own. If you're looking for a good sounding prewar banjo that won't break the bank, this is definitely one to consider!
