This is a Bacon Super Bacon Blue Ribbon plectrum banjo that I believe is from 1920s. I made a post on hangout here a while back but can’t seem to find it now that others gave me info. It’s probably archived. I can send more pictures if you like. I know someone out there will enjoy this banjo. I haven’t used it much at all.
The neck carving on this is amazing. The condition is surreal for 100 years old. I got this from a collector who, well did just that. The frets are great. I added a new bridge bc the one that came with it was metal fatigued.
Added red nylon strings to help avoid fret ware. Sounds great and built like a tank.
Sorry to say I don’t know much more about it but will continue to hunt for that posting I made.
Original notes from when I bought it:
ca 1920 Bacon Super Blue Ribbon Style A1 Plectrum Banjo, exc+ condition, orig case
Amazing condition for its age - virtually no fret/fingerboard wear, no dings on the neck at all, all original and complete.
22 fret neck, 26" scale length, carved heel
11" pot, ring appears silver-plated but with a patina
Original hardshell case
