For Sale: 1981 Stelling Whitestar, great condition!

The banjo is simply a time traveller. Beautiful build, laminated neck, hand cut inlays back then! No scratches or dents, normal wear for a three year old!
Fantastic shape for a 43 year old banjo! I am second owner and have had it about one year. Love it, but I prefer a mellower sound. I had always wanted a Stelling though, and I am glad it was in my quiver for a while.

It has a bell-like tone up high. I use the Stelling original bridge ( photo has a compensated bridge) and medium strings. Been playing fifty years. I teach. This banjo is the right stuff if you want your banjo to bark and bite! Stelling action and playability. It was always set up right by the "book" as I understand it. I use Stelling's workbook suggestions for set up on all newer banjos. Love the action. Love the quick decay of tones and that indescribable front end drive that is possible in high end Stellings.
