Description
This is a 5 string Parts Banjo that was assembled with all very good, high quality and professional parts.
This has a Tony Pass Rim with a high quality mahogany resonator (unknown builder) and a mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard that was made by Frank Neat. The fretboard has a Leaves and Bows inlay pattern and the neck is also a speed neck. A speed neck has the finish sanded off the back for faster playing.
The hardware is definitely good quality metal and this has a Hopkins 20 Hole Tone Ring. The armrest is a 2 piece and this has a Presto Style Tailpiece.
The banjo is definitely a pro quality instrument and just the Neat Neck would cost nearly $2000 new. This also has a very high quality TKL Archtop Tweed Case.
Condition
This banjo is in fantastic shape. The finish on the resonator looks great. There is some light wear on the first few frets but the frets are still in great shape, the fretboard is clean and this has spikes at frets 7 and 9.
All of the hardware looks great and the case is clean as well. This is also a very attractive banjo.
Set Up
This is set up with a new Remo head which is set to 90. This has a Huber Bridge and new Huber strings. The banjo is a killer instrument with all top quality parts that would cost well over $3000 to buy individually. This is a strong instrument and is set up for maximum performance.
