I acquired this banjo several years ago as a complete banjo with no missing parts, but in unplayable shape (loose fingerboard, slight neck twist, sloppy neck fit. I am guessing that either this is not the original neck, or that this banjo was built in a tumultuous time in early 1900 NYC where components may have been sourced from various makers. In any case, I took it to my shop and the finger board was removed, neck surface sanded close to flat (playable) finger board re-glued, dowel stick hole squared and shimmed to fit dowel stick, did an overall sprucing up and refinished.
It's now a sweet old banjo that plays nicely.
Banjo case is old and likely is original.
