For Sale: Fitch Masters Five ***SOLD***
This is one of Cliff Fitch's early 'Masters Five' banjos, and is all original with the exception of the AMB head. It's everything you'd want (and more) in a classic style -3 post-war banjo!
It's built around one of Wyatt Fawley's 'Retrotone' pot assemblies. The neck was made by Moses McKnight (no relation), a fellow Texan and superb craftsman. The resonator is a Gill 'pre-war style'. All hardware is nickel plated and top notch stuff.
One-piece mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard
'Full Flying Eagle' MOP inlay pattern (hand cut)
Gill 'pre-war style' mahogany resonator with dual concentric rings
'Retrotone' 3-ply soft red maple 'hide-glue' rim
'Retrotone' 20-hole flathead tone ring by Kulesh
One-piece resonator flange
Waverly V-2 tuners with geared 5th peg
Aged binding on neck and resonator
AMB head (currently tuned to G#)
Purcell 'roasted maple' 11/16" bridge with Crowe spacing
Action is 5/64" at 12th fret
5th string capo spikes installed
I'm offering a 2-day return policy on this banjo. All I ask is it be sent back in the exact same condition as when received, well packed and fully insured.
I can take PayPal or postal money orders.
Will come shipped in a nice Guardian arched-top case.
