I've been playing this banjo at home and at occasional jams, but there are no dings, scratches, etc. The banjo is made from oak for the most part - neck and block-built pot. The pot features an integral flange for the tension hooks rather than metal shoes or brackets. This lowers the weight and provides a much more comfortable feeling when holding the banjo in your lap. The fretboard is jatoba, the inlays are ivory-colored Corian. No whales or other large ivory-bearing mammals were hurt or killed while producing this banjo. The hardware is raw brass for the most part, the tailpiece and tension hoop being hand made. The tuners are nice right-angle tuners, a step up from economy guitar tuners. The head is a white Remo head, which produces good volumn and a bright sound that works for jamming.
