Ibanez Artist 5 String Resonator Banjo with original hard shell case. Both the banjo and the case, made in Japan in 1978, are in excellent condition. There is a small amount of fret wear to show that this has been played some otherwise I would have thought it new old stock it is so clean, but I bet there is a tiny swish or mark here or there if you look hard enough. These banjos were at the top of the heap with Gold Stars during the heyday of instrument building in Japan in the mid 70's thru the mid 80's and the Artist has a nice tone ring and sounds great. We have set it up with a new bridge and a Remo frosted head. It has spikes at the 7th and 9th frets fifth string. About the only issue was a split on the tube portion of the flange set that I have a close up picture of. We glued in a small piece of dowel and drilled it and it is solid and ready to go, a very small issue, but again, that's it. Even the case exterior is in great shape, most of these cases have the piping trim falling out. This is a great banjo and a very solid pro grade instrument that won't break the bank. Shipping via Fedex in the CONUS with adult signature required. Feel free to ask any questions you might have, we love to talk banjos. Tues-Sat 10-5, message any time, we'll reply as soon as we can.
