Supertone Tenor Banjo by Bacon (c.1930)
Perfect find for a restorer!
Two-piece walnut neck, maple rim with walnut veneer, white-bound 19-fret fingerboard with fancy pearl inlays, peghead has fancy pearl inlays and banner that reads "SUPERTONE / BACON", resonator has a rosewood back over other wood layers, tulip flange, 11" head, notched tension hoop.
Banjo condition is mid-restore (wooden parts stripped and sanded, all other parts included.
Original case in good to fair condition.
We are not banjo players or collectors. This banjo was acquired from a friend. Her husband, Johnny Griffith, played it during his career as a Motown Records in-house 'Funk Brothers' studio band.
