For your consideration~
An early 1880's Six string flush fret banjo.
"Ashborn style" design.
Nylgut strings, replacement pegs, and skin head in great shape.
This is a piece of banjo history and quite interesting. Very well built, yet also quite primitive in ways. Check out the very nice inlay work on the neck, as well as on the front and back of the headstock. This banjo has wonderful tone and stays in tune quite well. The lower bass string resonates beautifully even if not playing it, and projects well overall. Currently, I have it tuned to gCCGCD. It's a very light banjo. Intonation isn't bad, but takes some getting use to. This is a true time capsule and a lot of fun to play.
