I bought this last summer and it's seen very little playing time (I've been super-busy and what time I do have has mostly been spent on guitar and uke). It's a really nice banjo but I just got a 12" Enoch Dobson that is similar enough to render this one a bit redundant.
It's 100% dead mint, as-new. Seriously. It's as mint as they get. Plays and sounds great. The thin 12" pot and rolled brass tone ring really nail that southern banjo sound (rather than the more Boston-y sound of the banjos from let's say Bart Reiter).
Stock except that I put Stew-Mac ivoroid buttons on the very nice Gotoh pegs (will include original pearloid buttons) and I will throw in a really nice Sullivan Factory Floor bridge (5/8", Crowe spacing) as well as the stock Grover. If you don't like Crowe spacing let me know & I will keep the bridge and knock off a few bucks. Also comes with a TKL hard case that has literally never left the house. Also dead mint.
This is, I believe, the very banjo pictured on Zepp's site at http://zeppmusic.com/ramsey.htm#amish1 -- if not the very one, it's indistinguishable.
