For Sale: 2009 Frank Neat Kentucky
2009 Frank Neat Kentucky model, custom
I'm selling this for Bruce Stockwell.
- Mahogany speed neck with traditional hearts-and-flower inlay
- Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
- Blaylock no-hole tone ring
- Cox rim and resonator
*** Fret work needed
My own two cents, as the representative:
A fine example of what mahogany sounds like. The frets are worn low and it is due for a re-fret, but they don't buzz when I play it: Think if it as being well broken-in.
The sound is superb, and the speed neck feels great. Plays very easily. The neck feels like a typical Gibson profile to me, which is thinner than I'm used to or else I'd keep it. He (Bruce) didn't say anything about ordering custom rosewood, but to me it's quite a fine piece. The figuring in it is a nice mottled pattern. The binding is also a nice aged ivory color.
Other than the frets, I'd list this as Excellent Condition. Price generously reflects the fret work issue.
Original receipt and bridge included.

If local pickup, shipping gets dropped *and* take off $100.
I'm all over the NorthEast often, and I can schedule something in if you'd like to meet. If that's the case, I still consider that "local pickup" and you save $$$. I'd rather spend gas money, myself, to make sure you're happy with it and not play the UPS game.
(Since I'm selling this for someone else, I'll have to wait for the check to clear and all that hoopla. Normally I am very trusting and send my sale items to you on your word and the payment crosses in the night, but I don't feel right doing that with someone else's cash. Bank checks or MO's won't be subject to the clearing window.)
