i had full intentions on keeping this banjo for life but for some goofy reason i have decided to part with it...and at this moment it is for sale or trade..yes!! this is a banjo you will only see maybe once in a lifetime comeup for sale! for I have an email from bob flesher indicating that only about 24 of these banjos were ever built!..it is a 1979 liberty prominade serial number 1003p and as you can see is one awesome looking banjo and boy does this thing sound good!!.....i was told by wyatt fawley that he built the replacement neck for this banjo for the original neck apparently was not in a condition to be rebuilt ...this neck does have a truss rod accessable from the heel end of the neck where liberty would not even have had an adjustable truss rod,i honestly don't see how the original neck could have been any better than the fawley neck that's on this banjo..the craftsmanship of this neck is absalutly supurb....there is hardly any fret wear nor gold plate wear..its a little dusty but nothing a good cleaning wouldnt take care of..the walnut wood and finish is also in very nice condition....this comes with a great compilation of liberty information including the original sales slip from when it was bought new!...selling for $2200 in 1979 and as you can see in the picture it comes with a letter from bob flesher indicating its value at $6000 to $8000 in 2008 .... i would consider trades on upper end Gibson such as Granada,style 5,style 6 or 7,12,18 top tension/yates/etc. banjos and am actualy looking for a nechville xxv or a great lakes top tension.... and guitars such as martin/lucas/merril/etc. or possibly trades on a nice gibson mandolin?...so if you have any questions feel free to ask...thanks
