Guitjo (with mojo)? Banjitar?
Whatever you want to call it, this is where guitar chops meet the vintage banjo sound.
SS Stewart Universal Favorite pot?
(I am not confident of this....the dowel stick says S.S. Stewart Universal Favorite, but the rest of the pot doesn't convince me that it's in fact an S.S. Stewart).
frosted head
the neck is presumably a replacement, but time period appropriate - very straight for its age
3-piece (maple - mystery dark wood - maple)
mellow fat frets (think Les Paul "The Paul" style)
nice headstock inlay
classical guitar style tuners (may not be original to neck)
the neck could use a minor refinishing
there is a tiny separation between a couple of the 3 pieces at the heel, but it is very stable
Some of what appears to be damage in the pictures is actually just dust. My bad.
The strings are a bit beat, so I'll throw in a set of replacements.
The action is a little high, but it really doesn't impede playability due to the scale.
It could be lowered (if desired) by deepening the grooves in the nut.
I also have another 6-string bridge that I never tried out on her (I will include it with the banjo).
