This banjo was purchased in 1975 for $240. It is marked Alvarez #4285 on the receipt, but I have never seen any write ups on a 4285. Other than the drum head, it is in really good condition. I have added the Shubb 5th string capo recently. It was never played too much up until the last couple of years and I have recently purchased a Wildwood open back.
