This vintage Orpheum #2 has a beautiful carved and laminated neck, abalone inlays and birds-eye maple rim. An authority on vintage instruments (Stan at Mandolin Bros.) thought it might be a 5 string conversion, but couldn’t tell for sure. So the neck may not be original, but it is very well done with the correct inlays, laminations and carving. The rim is definitely original, but has been refinished. The rim is stamped "PATENTED 724033". The banjo is in excellent condition, plays great and needs no repairs. I believe the parts except for the tailpiece and armrest are original. A good hard-shell case is included.
