This is a recreation of the 1903 A. C. Fairbanks Whyte Laydie No. 2. It is made directly from an extant example and mimics the original in every way with the exception of geared tuners and a carbon fiber rod in the neck. This banjo is a project that has been three years in the making. The banjos are made by Eastman Strings, Inc. exclusively for Bernunzio Uptown Music. The rim is light weight, 3/8” thick and 10-3/4”in diameter. The scale length is 26”. All of the materials are as per original with maple neck and rim and ebony fingerboard. It is as good a playing banjo as anyone could ever ask for. Price includes double bump style hard case. Add $100 for calfskin head.
