Here is another example of Ronnie Bales excellent craftsmanship. This banjo, serial # 012, is unique in a number of ways. It has one of only 6 no-hole McPeake tone rings that Curtis ever had made, fit to a turboized Cox rim, and is the only banjo that Ronnie ever did with the bound peghead. Ronnie told me that he used 5 of the 6 McPeake no-hole rings in his banjos. All I can say is it gets the job done.
This banjo is in what I would consider excellent condition. The hardware is all bright and shinny, the wood is excellent, other than some light buckle marks on the resonator. None are through the finish. The frets had some wear, but I dressed then out this morning, treated the fingerboard and did a complete set-up on the banjo, which included a new AMB head, McPeake bridge, and new strings. The banjo sounds great. Comes with the original hardshell case...Bill
